Well anyone with a ear who was there would know a good or bad sounding band when they hear one. You dont need a MFA or PhD in Fine Arts to know which bands sounded like crap the entire night. My "little" video is for entertainment purposes only. Go point your LITTLE toes up your butt...

Chris......i know u said don't say anything bad....but listenin to the bands that I did, and i really am not familiar with most of these....only by name if i am.....i felt like my ears were gonna bleed.....sorry
This BOTB was very dissappointing to me. That is why I chose not to go. The value of music as an art is being disgraced by what I call an ignorant sport. Many of the clips I can not sit and watch more than 5 sec. Sad but true. This ignorance HAS TO STOP. Students blowing so hard that the entire ensemble sounds distorted. This was a shame and I have to say it. No way in H3LL. As a musician, educator, artist, and band fan I give this entire showcase two thumbs down. Too much over blowing..non balance. Drum majors humping the ground ..what is that?!?! Do you have any class? Seriously I am sick and tired of seeing things like that happen. It makes us as a people look totally ignorant..forget that..it makes us look stupid!!!
Sometimes I think people try to put too much of what is seen in music videos with bands..the quality of music has dwindled and now entertains the masses of ignorance.
Band members (and I am speaking to ALL band members in BR and abroad) Stop this ignorance stuff! Practice your instruments to perfection. It is obvious many of you do not practice and probably don't even care. You come to band practice and blow in those horns like the world is coming to an end. You play against a band and blow loud as you can and think you all are doing something. That junk is SLAW!!!
What happen to the pride of sounding good and putting forth the hard work and extra effort that would distinguish your school's band program and stand out from the masses. I think many of you have the wrong perception of band. I believe many of you observe band as a football game where everyone has to throw the ball as hard as you can, only what you are throwing is sound. Much of what I observed on these clips was sheer racket!! Truth be told. I couldnt even tell what some of the bands were playing.
I normally do not say anything on here. I just sit back and watch. But someone has to tell you all the truth.
As band members many of you ought to be ashamed of these clips. Pride is not believing a false reality of who was beasting who. Pride is being able to admit the truth and correcting mistakes. It is very obvious the amount of work many of you put into your band programs.
That's why many schools (african american based) don't even perform in music festivals. Because all many of you care about is blowing like crazy. It is easy to be ignorant...anyone can demonstrate that. But it takes a quality person to have discipline and self control.
Im going to stop now before I get carried away and draw back in my place of solitude and candor. But my young brothers and sisters of tomorrow, please wake up. Develop the dedication and pride that many of these school had long before many of you were born.
yea the truth must be told... But that BOTBs promotes "crowd hype".
