Alabama A & M University 3rd Annual High School Summer Band Camp

This annual camp is for studentsin grades 6-12 and will run from June 20-26, 2010. Many students haveexpressed an interest and desire for AAMU to provide this service to thecommunity of young musicians and future leaders. We, here at AAMU, feel thatthis experience will further these young musicians abilities to become strongerleaders in their respective band program. For Information concerning the fulldetails of the camp you may contact Derrick Yates, Assistant Director of Bandsand Camp Coordinator at (256) 372-4099.

I didn't know A&M has a high school band camp lol. Learn something new everyday.

I don't think Grambling will have one in a while because the Director of Housing doesn't want students to destroy the new dorms. That's the only reason the camp was cancelled because of the housing director.

Then you should do like Howard and have a Spring Band Camp for local kids who are able to commute back and forth from home.

Grambling is not in a big city when we held our camps most of the campers were coming from all over, especially Dallas,Tx. We had people coming as far as Florida and Virginia over 400 plus every year. I think a camp with just commuting wouldn't be successful with the area Grambling is in and it wouldn't be attractive to people. I'm sure the camp will return once Grambling gets a new housing director. LMAO
