The Hornets open the season on Sept. 4 against SWAC rival Mississippi Valley State at Cramton Bowl. ASU continues its season-opening home stand Sept. 11 versus Arkansas-Pine Bluff before closing the month with a pair of road contests at Prairie View A&M (Sept. 18) and Alcorn State (Sept. 25).
The month of October brings Bama State home to start with an Oct. 2 tilt against Texas Southern. ASU visits Grambling State on Oct. 9 before earning the first of its two bye weeks of the season. Following the open date, Alabama State hosts Savannah State on Oct. 23, for the first of just two non-conference games on the schedule.
ASU concludes the month Oct. 30 versus rival Alabama A&M in the 69th annual Magic City Classic at Legion Field in Birmingham.
Bama State closes the season playing two of its final three games at home beginning Nov. 6 against Jackson State. The Hornets then travel to Baton Rouge, La., for a game at Southern (Nov. 13) before battling archrival Tuskegee in the 87th annual Turkey Day Classic on Nov. 25.
The SWAC Football Championship game is slated for Dec. 11 at Legion Field.
yeah it would be great to see them battle txsu. haven't seen them since 2004 and they were something else in the bowl. really put us on our toes after an easy start to the season. low key i always like what the atmospher txso brings to a battle.
SU at the end of the season!! Woooooo! Thats what im talking about! I guess there isnt a Gulf Coast Classic anymore? And who is in the Chicago Classic this year? I know Pine bluff and Valley was a sorry classic. Then they replaced P.B. with Ala St. and it wasnt a competition between St. and Valley. The last time Pb and Ala St. band played each other was in 2004 at Crampton Bowl. I know we took the swac over in 2005, but I cant lie P.B. gave us the bizness in 2004!
chicago classic this year is alcorn and valley. sadrn lol

I like the fact that it will be later in the season. Instead of seeing both bands pre-mature! That late in the season leaves no excuses. The only thing I can say for my band is that I hope we can maintain more of the members we come into the season with. You know how it goes...300 for the first game and 195 by Turkey Day Classic. I hate that!...Either way there will be no excuses.

What is this pre-mature you speak of? SU knows nothing of this. Against the "S"...Week 1 is full riot gear attire.
