best sousaphone section in the past decade

I would like to know what everybody think about that. Tubas are the heart and soul of many bands. Here is my list in order.

1. bama st.- historically one of the best of all time.

2.bcc- blends in very well and sounds good with there band

3.tnsu-got them lows bro

4.jsu-has an overall rich sound with the band

5.morris brown-another tuba section with them lows and blend

6.miles- even though the program has suffer the tuba section still good

7.aamu- sounds excellent with the band and plays with control

8.nsu-same as the above

9.su- them boys are killers on that fiberglass just imagine them with chrome

10.famu-for a band that size and still bringing up that rear speaks volumes for that section

  • I have never heard an conversation about sousaphones with SU in it!...And here they come actn like Bytchez but its the truth and if your as real as you claim you wont even comment Jaggers!...lol! FAMU is overrated...Very simple parts in songs and fanfares! And that what if SU played on chrome statement is too funny!!...wayy to broad! Drop famu and su and definitely pick up txsu, and you can toss up a quarter between jsu and uapb. JSU is gaining consistance and PB is really fighting for a place on the map!
  • In the past DECADE? You do know DECADE means a period of 10 years (1999-2009) so many shouldn't be on that list. How people try to twist sh_t. LMAO
  • Fighting? This is your opinion and I'm not going to argue on an opinion but what criteria did you use? Just curious! And does Morris Brown have a band?

  • I said fighting because DAT BOTTOM...is just now getting recognition in the SWAC. To me they are better now then i have ever heard them. Maybe fighting was a stretch..What i mean is they are working on being consistant. They are in the top 3 or 4 in the SWAC so im not bashing!

  • This list is definitely bias and isn't based off an entire decade. It's evident.
  • 1 or 2 years of Glory doesn't cut it
  • actually the decade begun in 2000 and ended in 2009,2010 starts a new decade
  • what's wrong wit SU'S tubas,,not to argue but they play the part written for them and if they did play on metal i promise that it wouldn't be fair to anybody,,,but real talk i have always liked txso"s section,,they come wit it!! and they clean
