I personally feel that northern bands are better than southern bands because we no more technical skills on our instrument and we sound better...my band was in the botb natinal band competition and we made it to finals and everything but we didnt win but it seem like when you go down south to here southern bands you would think they would be cold, blowin, sounding good and everything...but when we heard some of those bands they were so wack...i just feel northern bands are better than southern bands. so what is your opion.

You really cant say bands from the north or south are better....my opinion on it is that the north focuses more on sound quality and precision but the south focuses on sound and getting the crowd into what they are doing.....its almost like the north is tryin to be more meac than swac and the south the other way around...but thats not with every band just with the majority....
ha look at chris talking smart about music....but yea north bands are about sound and drills and south is that power sound and what the people want i like both styles of bands.
Exactly. Somethin like this is more of preference than a comparison.

Better? like Fe-Fe said, thats just preference....styles are different. More southern bands, often than not, can be just as technical if not more and produce more sound volume and quality than northern bands due to either numbers, or from where the BD comes from and instills in the band. The bands you might have heard probably weren't the "top" southern high school bands
