so i would lke to become dm at my high school tht is core style (super easy to do ) .. i hav met allt eh reqirments and can b it anytime i audition .. the only thing is i come from a "show style" band an i really, really, want a mace!! bt here at this core style band "we simply dnt do tht" is there any wayy i can convince my band director to let me get a mace ?

shiid..i'd say dis....if u n yo band director can get on one mind frame... den core style o not he should let u use a mace....as far as doin a basic kickout on da field ya band director mit go as far as dat...n errythin else bes wishes
I'd have to disagree, corp style drum majors, if the position is held to its full potential, can be a stressful yet rewarding experience.
As a drum major your focus should not be on you and your mace, but to the betterment of the entire program. A little sacrifice on your part can help take your band to higher levels if you so desire to take on the responsibilites.
