Who would you all say the best drumsection was for 2008 and who had the best individual sections? As a whole I would say WT is da best.War n Thunder They alwaz consistent with keeping the funk and chopping with it. and they sound just like a drumset with dem funky @ss kicks. look the best.KRANK funky. tight section. clean. One of the best looking and sounding drumsections.Funk Factory very consistent scariest looking krabs lol funky simple 2 the point drum parts funk if factory made lolFunktrain tight section very energetic and consistentT.O.P. neva been a bad section really tite this year and unafraid to battle anyone not that consistent even thought that had that mix up one year that allowed left only krabs playing but they pretty goodT.T.B.-F.C.C. consistent got much love 4 em and they tight but only kaught a few glimpses of them dis year but sum of their parts 2 songs seems.....B.O.X.-our cousins get alot of respect 4rm da world so they much be doing sumthn rite and the have there own style with a corp influence and they are get at making the krowd stand on their feet.Chocolate Thunder has really improved but aren't that consistent. a nice battle section. welcome back C phi TS.O.U.L. many people don't see them but they are still on the come upS.t.i.x.x. inc. sorry don't really know anything on themindividualsnares best dis year FT/WTFunktrain stepped it up a whole lot with the split parts and nice use of hybrids and tricksWar n Thunder(DA Funk) consistent, stick height, level of difficulty and hybrids, looking exactly alikeT.O.P. snares really stepped up this year alot and are beginning to improve the level of difficultyKRANK (Blackrain) snares didn't really get a chance to showcase as much but nice use of hybrid with a lil drumcorp style incorporated nice job getting all of those snares clean. work on drum heightB.O.X. snares also have a drumcorp influenced sound and known 4 bursting rudimentsChocolate Thunder snares are beginning to battle more and bring the level of difficulty up i'm glad to see the numba of snares decreasing.T.T.B.-F.C.C.(Choppas) very good to be clean with all of those snares. nice chopping nice stick tricksS.O.U.L.(T.B.P.) have sum really nice snares if they just start playing and being seen by the public. and tuning their drums bettaFunk Factory(M phi G) love keeping the tradition with their form and they too stepped up on the kall owt game by playing an entire quarter with Jackson's snares but afta I saw what happened against TnSU and JSU....quints,quads,6sPVAMUUAPB's blackmagicTxsuJSU's quad squadcymbalsUAPB Black Bladez Z phi ZSU Z phi ZASU sex cymbals Z phi ZGSU cymbals ColdsteeltenorsUAPB's blackiceJSU's T phi FFunktrainSUbassJSU's funky fourGSU Crowd ControlASU horsemenUAPB black thunder

I mean you gave names and everything lol!! My top picks of course....
TTB- I give us the top because i think we give you everthing you want in all the different styles...you want to be funky, we'll give it to you. You want to get technical we'll get there! Snares are on point with rediculous numbers...big ups george!
Bass...i dont have to explain Tenors on point. Quads....Mann! If you ask well respected sections in the swac who they respect, funky four is who they mention. Real recognize real, and to add the lower toms are backwards!... Cymbals..i didn't even have to mention them. Killin every section, and the funny thing is, i can beleive there is at least ONE person in every section of the swac that beleives that too!!...
KRANK- suprisingly they got my respect THIS YEAR. I got a chance to witness a few cadences that showed them at there best!....I was raised on KRANK and the biggest difference about there section that really lifted them in the past few years is the tuning if there snares (popcorn). Yall use to do this lil jsu thing, but now yall are creating your own identity!! Cymbals....i think yall are eventually going to take it to another level...z phi SHOWS!....yall are more creative and the section is feeding!
W.T. They are clean and i do have a lot more respect for them than this order i'm putting them in because if you know anything about REAL swac sections that HOLD tradition, they are the best at it! I can relate at st....well all setions can! It seems like it kind of limits them to other style cadences to match with sections like st., txsu, or pb.
BOX- Yall are serious and i personally know yall are a desired battle for us. Snares, Quads, and tenors are creative but bass and cymbals not bringing it!!... Snares are stupid at times though!....
Krank is a perfect mix between that swac swagger and technicality. Their material as a whole is more technical and involved than what you'll hear Wt or FF play but it still has a funky swagger to it
Box...I mean they are pretty good...I do believe that they are at times overrated because of what they do on the field which isn't all that great once you've seen it more than once...but they have excellent material and its played well...I can't hate on them at all they are really good but they don't have as much style as Krank and they are too stiff
Funktrain I like ft they are tight but they aren't what I thought they were when I saw them in Dallas this year...while they ARE GOOD I compare them to the BOX often times because they're style/form is kind of the same as far as the way their snare hang and they look very corp at times...but the BOX is better in my opinion and Krank looks better...but that split roll their snares do is tight
Wt is funky and they have some decent material but they are not up there with the top 3 in my opinion
TTB is tight also..they are technical but they have no funk to themselves...just because you have an accent on two and 4 doesn't mean its funky. they are too stiff and a bit boring at times..just not that entertaining
What I heard this year:
SU keeps the best pocket. They are "funky" i.e. the downbeat into a beat 2. It gives that tight, rocky feeling you get from a trap set
TxSou- the quads take away from funk but nonetheless they are funky as heyall. They have a tendency to get out of pocket sometimes
BOX- not funky, grooving and technical as always. Their focus obviously isn't on "funk" but technique. Kudos
GSU- Decent pockets, decent picture
I'm not giving a ranking on these at all. Just my observation. If I had to choose I'd choose BOX. They make you WANT to look in their direction. Like coordinated crunk crackheads on drums.
true! i was listening to SU 2day and Funk factory was kicking a funky @ss groove in one of their songs. them and WT have the best drum parts...hella funky

Well I will say that as far as playing with the band during songs then FF really shows out.....they actually sound like a drum set and you don't hear a whole lot of extra mess going on thats also how Rat Patrol is during their songs..simple yet effective/funky...
I like the lil groove that Wt does on neck also
My previous ratings were based off of material and material alone
