SU's sousas were doing just fine for such a small number at the Bayou Classic BOTB. WTH? Arrangements from any band for me is questionable. Can you elaborate on why?
JSU - cleanest and most exciting....need better field shows
SU - always powerful......need better trumpets and tubas
AlaSU - big band sound....clean it up
TxSU - Small in numbers, big in sound and enthusiasm.....pray for a consistent season
PV - Nice overall sound....stop tryin to play like SU
Gram - nice shows....clean up sound
Alcorn - nice entusiasm and arrangements...clean up clarity
MVSU - nice sound....get some NU+Z
AAMU - clean sound and nice show.....get more balance
UAPB - great arrangements and shows....stop sticking out individually

If You Could Give All the SWAC Bands a Title and tell where they need improvment
JSU - Cleanest but need to stop hanging over as much
ASU - Loudest but need to clean it up
SU - Best Arrangments but need to get some tubas
cause they started off focusing on tryin to blow hard and their sound suffered.....especially the trumpets.....but like i said...in the beginning....i only saw them battle TxSU this year....and thats it...

SOUTHERN HAD THE BEST SOUND THIS YEAR. THEIR BASS HORN SECTION WAS SMALL BUT STILL POWERFUL. THE ARRANGEMENTS ARE ALWAYS TOP NOTCH YOU CAN ALWAYS IDENTIFY THE SONG FROM THE FIRST NOTE.
UAPB....CLEANEST SOUNDING BAND in the SWAC PERIOD and drills are always creative..trumpets could come out more at times
JSU...Very nice sound when they aren't blowing and they STYLE their music well....I know its 08' but when they played "Crazy" in I believe 06 and the grooved it and the bones really funked that melody...tight...but they aren't consistent throughout the season towards the middle they always loose steam and their sound goes down the drain also their shows need to improve
TXSU....Extremely ENERGETIC they are always up for an all out battle regardless of anything lol but not as clean and articulate as they should be and drills should be better
GSU...From what I've seen from the last few performances they are cleaning up their sound AND their drills are coming around well....they need to polish up the sound..they are ENTERTAINMENT lol
SU...is the POWER/DRILL BAND! They are soo loud lol but its a double edged sword because they have a lot of balance/blend/articulation/intonation issues that they really should address
ASU....They have got to be the LOUDEST BAND in the swac but they are suffering from the same issues as the school listed above but their fieldwork isn't nearly as impressive
well he might be talking about stand decorum because I've seen bands that wild out in the stands and still sound pretty good...but I haven't seen PV in about 5 years but when I did see them they didn't seem like the type of band to get out of order so I don't know about the no discipline comment I don't think I believe that one but then again I haven't seen them in action for a min
