I thought it was SU and FAMU. The only exception I can thinkof is GSU. They are doing their own thing.
Nothing against JSU, but what band tries to imitate the Sonic Boom? If you ask me, I'd say that JSU is the median between SU and FAMU. Musically speaking, if you're more aggressive than JSU, then you are closer to imitating SU. If you're more...uhhh....meticulous than JSU, then you're closer to imitating FAMU.
I'm not trying to say that these three bands set the bar for musicianship, but these three bands seem to be the most talked about.
As far as my school (PV) goes, we are "kinda" comparable to FAMU (seeing that a good number of PV BD's are FAMU graduates), just with a more aggressive sound, and a kick-ssa percussion section. If the Storm had FAMU's numbers, then folks would definitely say that PV is the "FAMU of the SWAC" (if they ain't saying that now).
Our(JSu) and Su style is almost the same... Just like i watch Clips from the 70-80s JSU and Su did Basically the same exact drills except the sun burst and the star burst drill. But Jsu and su did the wiggle drill and similar step 2 drills...
