I know a lot of you going trash talk the topic before you even read, Mvsu this year has been pretty good. Represented the Swac well vs Famu and had a intense 5th with Alcorn(Good Job both bands) Alcorn sounding better each year also. Its a lot going on with Valley since that whole band director deal hopefully everything will bounce back we won't know till they face JSU next week. I think this year is a good year to see them make it to the Honda. Not only would that help out recruitment even more it will help fund the program. I'm looking forward to seeing 3 Swac schools making it to the Honda this year. This year could be they year to appear in the Honda, idk I might be wrong.

Valley has improved, but their in a category with most popular programs. I don't know if they have the fan base to compete with the votes some of these other schools recieve. Unfortunately Honda is for bandheads but not by bandheads, meaning most people dont know about the progress of bands through the season. The majority of the fans are going to vote for the same ole schools regardless of how sorry they may be or how much others have come up. Valley has to compete with NCAT,SCSU,BCU,JSU,TSU, and ASU just to get in from their division. Im not sure they have enough exposure but I suppose anything is possible....
Alcorn is bigger somehow they managed to get in a smaller division, Valley suppose to be in that spot as Alcorn pose to be in the 161 or more..less competition for them to be voted in I guess

Your band director from Valley made that decision you go by how many instruments you got on the field not auxiliary (flags and dance team) Alcorn only got 128 instruments on the field!
Speak for yourself you're not in Valleys band so therefore you know nothing, the band director did not send in 161 we only have 115 instruments on the field not including auxiliary nor drum section, but the Honda does state that it includes the drum section as part of instruments so Alcorn should be in the same category with Jsu they are both pretty much the same, From tubas to btones even trums are the same size a decent size drum section they should be with Jackson not AAMU

Forget a botb, according to Mississippi Congressman Bennie Thompson, Valley will be closed in the next 5 to 10 years. They need to stop stealing money up there, those administrators at valley are sad.
