Okay we all know that HBCU football teams are not the best at what they do, but here and there they do good..But what is your band's relationship with your Football team?? Some hate each other..some don't! I go to JSU and i've had the football team come up to me and say they wanna hear a certain song because it gets them hyped up!

At Grambling the band and the football has always had a good relationship. The football team always requests the band to play Neck and the GSU chant lol.
I don't know if it's still like this...but, the first days or two or four of band camp...some of the band (mainly crabs) and football players used to get into, or get close to fighting almost every year. Usually, something simple like the football players trying to cut the line at the cafeteria. It always ended up being all good...but, testosterone used to fly early to make sure the band and football team were ready for the season (lol)

our football team (hell the whole athletic department! lol) respects the band for all of the work that we put in and for the results that we put out. SO FAR, i have not heard of any bad vibes between us and the athletic department cause at the end of the day, the band students are athletes too!!! lol.
The relationship between Central State's band and football team is great. We party, study, play the Xbox or PS3 against or with each other in our spare time. The CSU football team ALWAYS request Marauder Land/ Ice Cream Man but unfortunately, it didn't help them at all last season lol. Go Marauder football team. The chemistry between a HBCU band and its football team is important to the public image of the university as well as the students of that institution. I'm hoping in my senior season, they can win more than 1 game and the band can continue to mature and grow. Lets see what happens next.
Yessir!! When i was a crab we got into it with our football team crabs too, because they would break in line when we go to the cafe, and everyone would be bout to fight and the band outnumbered them, so they had to schedule us at certain times to eat bcuz it got outta hand one time.

The HOF relationship with the football team is all good...until they try to cross through one of our lines (usually the crab lines) lol. But by the time they understand/respect what the deal is as far as crossing through our lines then we all good again!!
