as much as we smack talk regarding this subject. its in the News this week that SU board members are taking it into consideration,. IMO i dont care how much money the Classic has lost. it will not be a Classic without GSU.
GSU is the reason that whole even exists.

GSU may be the reason it EXISTS, but SU is the reason that it has THRIVED.
biggest crowd support,...biggest band draw...oh, and winning 11 out of 13 Classics (1991-2003), including a win streak of 8 straight didnt hurt either.
I dont think its going anywhere also, but AGAIN, most people are watching on tv because of SU's band now. Most of the crowd at the BOTB's (biased or unbiased) are jumping up and down to SU's band. SU brings the most fans....most excitement.
So im just saying, lets not DOWN SU's involvement in making the classic the success it is.
Who CREATED the classic has NOTHING to do with you mightve helped SUSTAIN the classic.
Put it like this: If SU wouldve dropped out of the game, and it would be GRAM vs ???, would the Bayou Classic still be on tv and poppin?? umm NO.
And has their EVER been any talks about officials BOOTING SU out of the classic? ummm NO.
So again, yall can keep being delusional, but SU has been the biggest draw for the classic in the last 10 years or so, if not longer.

I don't think GSU is the problem, as you can see, attendance is down across the board for these major classics. I remember attending the State fair Classic when PVU was horrible and the classic averaging 60k plus. I think over exposure of programs along with corporate interference has alot to do with it. While I haven't been to a Bayou Classic in 10 years or so, if it has become anything like the SFC classic then I'll continue to pass. The game has more commercials in it than a primetime special oon ABC. Couple that with more people deciding to spend money on things they feel more important and it spells doom for the classics. I hope I'm wrong, but I just don't see the attendance getting back to the levels of the past unless something changes, from the product on the field, to the experience of the game.
dont put words in my mouth sir. I recognized Gram's importance in the classic.
I was responding back to the poster that claimed GRAM is the starter and sustainer of the classic.,
And ALL im saying is, lets not forget theres another BIG NAME HBCU involved in the classic, who has a MAJOR draw for the game.
I speak to ALOT of high school students in Houston, Atlanta, NC, and SC (per job) and I always mention my alma mater (SU),,..and most of thing watch for SU's band. So im just saying...
If YALL have had a different experience than that, then GREAT. I totally respect that.
But Im just telling you from EXPERIENCE why I have personally heard from most people I talk to.
