There are many other bands that fundraise also....INCLUDING SWAC BANDS!!!!. IJS

Not everyone is being negative. I think the band director was so arrogant last season by throwing in everyone's faces that they, meaning SU, have McDonalds, Yamaha, getting a $200,000 check from the Floyd Mayweather vs Pacquio event, going to many away games and botb, etc. and then right before the new season starts they claim that they are broke, to me it's hard to believe and careless.
The articles and pictures you dug up about the other bands are old and Im sure at the time those bands were fundraising they werent boasting about having sponsors before hand, then claim "we broke yall" literally, right before students are to start band camp.
You cant expect everyone to feel sorry for them.
So promoting it via, social media which is the 21st century thing to do, is being arrogant? People are really behind times if they think this. The whole point of sponsorships is so those corporations can be shown publicly giving back to the organizations. Same reason why you see McDonalds, Coca-Cola, etc.... on the football team scoreboards, or why you see the Nike, Adidas, and Under Armour logos on the team uniforms. They give your organization money, they want you to publicize that they sponsored your group. If SU fans see that McDonald's and Citgo sponsor the band, there might be an increased chance that they go and spend their money at those businesses.

SU is not asking for pity, they are asking for financial support just like other bands do!!!

We need new uniforms we no questions asked, because we have GOOD relationships with people. And if we have a sponsorship we wouldn't cry we broke later
