Just would like the see some comments from the Band battle between TxSU vs ASU... My Comments,
Finally got to see State in person and they now rank alil higher on my list and I even used my Boom Mic same Mic I used for the (Ocean vs Boom Match up from this year) OverAll I felt it was a nice match up both bands did they thing and got to play alot,This battle was a great way to finish the season! Almost felt like I was at a real swac game LOL.... some footage is up already more on the way...p.s - Loved the Long Pregame! Great Job to both bands ...

I wish I was there but ah well, I watched the clips of halftime. TXSU took halftime 100%. Sorry ASU but crooked lines and a boring dance routine just dont do it for a college. ASU was huge though.......... and fast cadence looked good.
Good job Ocean and congrats to TSU for bringing SWAC Championship back to Texas. That makes Texas a championship state two years in a row. Im waiting on Texas College, U of H, and Rice to bring in some championships now to complete things. And to think, in my college days, PV went 10 years without winning and 3 years ago, TXSU was in a slump. Its really good seeing great things happen in the community that usually sees so much negativity.
Great job to both bands....I did enjoy myself in Birmingham, AL this pass weekend! I have friends at both schools. It was good seeing them and hearing both of them talk trash to each other. CONGRATS to TxSU for being the new SWAC CHAMPS in Football for the 2010-2011 football season!
Now this is my second time seeing Alabama State this season and my fourth time seeing Texas Southern...This battle was cool. But I have to give the W to TxSU...For many reasons. TxSU sound quality was a lot better than ASU. ASU hand moments but TxSU was better overall. In the 1st half of the game TxSU dominated ASU had a few hits and a few nice arrangements, however they didn't execute the good ones they had. Not every song ASU played was bad, but it wasn't as polish like TxSU. Also the left side of ASU band was very strong. I saw a lot of horn holders in ASU band. ASU had the size to power TxSU down. But it didn't happen.
Halftime goes to TxSU by a long shot. Alabama State show was dull and dry and boring. Those dancers were hot. ASU has some beautiful women. And the honey bee's are always funny. That was the best part of you all show. TxSU fans were standing on there feet from the beginning to the very end of the show. Standing ovation Literally! Motion was on point as usual. Both ASU & TxSU have some great dancers and I must say they both were FINE! (southern women...gotta love them) ASU had holes in there show, TxSU was way more precise and executed their drill well! They have been drilling well the entire season!
The second half was ok...ASU was blowing on TxSU when they came off the field. TxSU didn't play a lot in the beginning of the third quarter. (The games I saw them in they never do) ASU was playing a lot of fanfares. TxSU doesn't play fanfares from what I see. (personally I don't care about fanfares, that's just me-prove your point in the music/songs) TxSU was winning the game so the band was into the game. TxSU fans have came a long way...however I like it!!!
The 5th Quarter was ok...I wish it could have been longer! But once again the 5th W goes to TxSU. They were cleaner. ASU EWF song was ok. It didn't sound to good, it was spotty! Jamaica Funk was nice!!!
Overall it was a great battle. But TxSU got this one! Alabama State is in the top 5 bands in the SWAC. But they have a few things the need to work on. Especially when it comes to sound quality. Some of there arrangements are OK and some are like WTF! And the arrangements that are good, there band doesn't execute them well!
However Good Job to Both Bands!!!
