What is the future of the high school and college programs around here? I don’t know about y’all, but to me, it’s not looking too good. I mean, look at these high school, particularly Louisiana. Not too much good stuff is happening. It’s apparent that a lot of schools are definitely falling /fallen off. Especially when it comes to the field. Its more schools than you think.
I’ve heard from a lot of College Upperclassmen from several colleges saying the crab class of 2010 was horrible. From my point of view (a high school sophomore), I don’t see it getting any better. I’m a big band head, and I talk to a lot of band members all across the boot. Majority of what I see is big headed, know-it-all, wanna be Southern Band Members. And I think this ego and attitude is what’s killing. Don’t get me wrong, they have those bands out there that are doing pretty good, big ups to em. Some of the bands that ARE doing good, don’t know what it means to be a good band. They just let the wins and braggin rights get to their head which only makes the attitude & ego situation worst…Things are changing..And this "hazing publicity", it ain't helping.... All I see is crab classes getting worst and worst.
I hope someone understand what I’m trying to say.
I just want to know what do y’all think the future is looking like…
Big ups if this don't apply to you.

I can't speak for everyone but this is my message to the high schoolers....from a college senior.....
Listen before speaking.....stay humble...if you think you are the best, you aren't, so continue to strive to be the best....
Don't be a duplicate, even if you want to attend that school. Help your school make a name for itself off its own style/merits. It is OK to have influence from a college band, obviously, but don't go around stuntin like you already go there.
Be humble.....it will help your crabbing process alot more than if you try to come in being a "Devin Miles"

My bd once said " its the guys that aint doing nothing that are always crying and complaining about things"
If you're really tired of seeing crappy freshman and upperclassmen its time to volunteer some time . They say " it takes a village to raise a child" All the villagers arent trying to raise the child and complain about every thing the kid does. I can guarantee that the kids would love for an alumni of their band or section to come and show them something. Yes, the mentality of kids have changed due to too many distractions, but thats doesnt mean they cant learn and do better. ONE bd and maybe an asst.bd(if you're lucky) aint gonna be able to get to MULTIPLE distracted teenagers . bottom line : GET IT AND HELP
