The Importance of Music Education to Black Males

Basically I would like to know the thoughts of other music lovers on how important music education is to black males or how important it should be.

What are the effects of exposing black males to instrumental music education?

What can it teach them? (Life Lessons) 

What are the pros and cons If any?

    why is this only toward black males??? what about females?? what about people of mixed decent???   come on man...

    Because I think everybody (Black male/female or mixed decent) should receive their own individual attention. Who says that the thoughts and ideas stated couldn't be used for everybody else besides a black male. They can go either way. But for now I wanna focus on the black male because each of those people(Black male/female or mixed decent), have different experiences and certain things effect us differently. So first up the black male.

    well to me its like when music really got in my life dat was my focus. it gave me sumthin to do and look forward to. it made me happy. it was all i needed. music was my crack and da horn was my pipe.
