If you've paid enough attention and spent enough time around here, you notice that every January I pop the question of arrangement worthy songs (I know it's almost February, I've been busy..lol).....So, without any further ado, I ask ye citizens of Bandhead, what songs have you come across that you believe should be penned?
Here are a few of my suggestions to start this thing off:
*Disclaimer: I always suggest some off the wall stuff, because I believe in being different. Please listen to each clip and attempt to see the beauty of the arrangements and the potential they possess...also I'm an old soul, but feel free to add songs of any genre and year you please (hell, I don't even care if it's a TV jingle)...hint: for the more vocal based selections, envision the chords as if they came from a brass section...
Rebbie Jackson - Centipede
Vesta Williams - Sweet, Sweet Love
For Real - You Don't Know Nothin' (This one would be a good sectional fanfare)
Prince - Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad
Rebirth Brass Band - Buck (This one is especially for my N.O. folks...just imagine being cranked on by those trumpets...smh)
Sade - Your Love Is King (I can't remember if anyone ever played this, but I always thought it would be a nice band tune if arranged properly)
Richard Smallwood & Vision - Anthem of Praise (Exclude the entire section of the solos and you have a masterpiece)
Ok, I'm tired now...have at it people!!!!

Thank for posting, Bruh! Praise Anthem and Centipede have been on my wishlist for years. Here is a few more on my wishlist:
Jamiroquai - Virtual Insanity https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMPTXAc9aJ0 (I heard a corestyle band playing this)
SWV- Rain https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=coV8EozidZk (Heard an arr. on this site but wasn't satisfied. LOL)
Kingdom - Nevertheless https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_RLVXQGuLA
Earth, Wind and Fire - Show Me the Way to Your Heart https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EiNE9f0llOs
etc.
Well, I can't speak for any other band, but I know we (Morehouse) played Virtual Insanity darn near every game my crab year ('03). I don't think it has been played since though.

Richard Smallwood & Vision - Anthem of Praise would be crazy!!!
Not this version, but the version from the movie fast break. (It's on iTunes)
Ur welcome, bruh. Thanks for contributing. Man, Virtual Insanity used to be my jam! I definitely wanna hear that. That EWF tune sounds like a good high step song for the Purple Knights. I think Nevertheless would be a good drill tune for SWAC bands. I know what you mean about that SWV tune. Ol' dude's arrangement wasn't bad. It just needs some tweaking. I still give him an "A" for effort. It's better than anything I could've done.lol.

American Bandman, thank you for bringing me back with some of those tunes. Klymaxx has plenty of good band material. After 7 also has a few. Mama Used to Say was always one of my favorites. Nu Shooz made me laugh. I haven't heard that song in years. All of the tunes you listed were good.
Fa sho. I also wished somebody played that For real joint you posted years ago when it first came out.
