  • a clean, articulate, powerful, intense, entertaining, and consistent program that appeals to the university and its followers.

  • what about Balanced, tuned, good intonatin, image, great halftime shows? ppl base bands off of how they play in the stands and thats foolish
  • Its all about the field show. Thats where you prove how good you are, not in the stands so much. If all you gon do is be good in the stands, then you might as well be called a pep band.
  • a good band is a combination of all of that

you cant be a good band if your fieldwork sucks

you cant be a good band if you suck in the stands

there is nothing wrong with power but unless you learn how to refine and control it, its NOISE.

people need to realize that its not the louder band that wins, its the band that brings everything to the table FIELD AND STANDS.

  • all of what i said can be attributed not only to the stands, but the field and marching as well. It ain't all about blowing in the stands....that just the easier part
  • Powerful? So if a band is not powerful they are not good? This is the logic that is so bogus and that messes up middle and high school bands.
  • to me the only bands that bring it during halftime shows are SU, AlbSU, TxSU, BCU, FAMU. im sure theres more but thats all i can think of that dnt do the same drill over and over
  • powerful I use in a sense of making the audience 'feel" your music......not "blow your bells off" powerful

Now you know when one hears the term "powerful" they just think of loud. Well the one's that don't know any better does. Which are usually most middle/high schoolers, non bandsmen and the not so musically inclined which is a big percentage of people in the stands at football games and on this site. A band that doesn't focus on power can still be a good band now if you can play with controlled power that's just icing on the cake, many can't do it and some that's all they are good for, can't drill worth a sh!t but they can fill the horn up. Is that a good band to you? lmao

But at the end of the day it's all about preference but many like or dislike a band because their friend does. lmao
