a clean, articulate, powerful, intense, entertaining, and consistent program that appeals to the university and its followers.
a good band is a combination of all of that
you cant be a good band if your fieldwork sucks
you cant be a good band if you suck in the stands
there is nothing wrong with power but unless you learn how to refine and control it, its NOISE.
people need to realize that its not the louder band that wins, its the band that brings everything to the table FIELD AND STANDS.

Now you know when one hears the term "powerful" they just think of loud. Well the one's that don't know any better does. Which are usually most middle/high schoolers, non bandsmen and the not so musically inclined which is a big percentage of people in the stands at football games and on this site. A band that doesn't focus on power can still be a good band now if you can play with controlled power that's just icing on the cake, many can't do it and some that's all they are good for, can't drill worth a sh!t but they can fill the horn up. Is that a good band to you? lmao
But at the end of the day it's all about preference but many like or dislike a band because their friend does. lmao
