Reason #1LEADERSHIP THE BAND DIRECTORS .........what is there lifestyle how much do they know about much do they understabnd about Instrumentation and what did learn when they was in high school................
Reason #2 What is the vision of the Program......is it set up to educate and build a legacy or win a state competition.......
Reason #3 When you see Our Elder Band Directors they Have the Title of Doctors........The problem is my DIrectors are teaching and not really dedicated to the Craft.
Reason #4 When i see a band program suffering i Think they need prayer and it is begining but when i find out they have been like that since the beginging of there time i question The leadership......
A BAND PROGRAM IS A REFLECTION OF THE CAPTIAN AND WHAT HE ALLOWS MEANING THE DIRECTORS NEED to STOP TAKE BACK THE AUTHORITY WITH THERE SKILLS NOT WORDS BECAUSE ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS.........WHEN I PLAY MY HORN PEOPLE LEARN BECAUSE THEY FEEL THE PRACTICE AND PRAYER I PUT INTO MY CAREER AND TEACHING...........The Answer to your Question is the Direction that the programs are focused on today verses them yesterday meaning OLD SCHOOL
These days, the internet and other technologies have given our bands so much exposure...perhaps too much exposure. Over the years, this over exposure has taken away from the mystique of our bands...big time.
Pride sticks with you forever
