They have people who don't know of other programs but theirs out there and so they think getting someone from FAMU will make their band better, and they look out for each other but Cedar Grove has an SU grad over there!!

WHY ARE ALL ATLANTA HIGH SCHOOL BAND DIRECTORS FROM FAMU?
Every school in the atlanta area has a band director from famu, why though? Is atlanta seeking them out?
You don't know what the hell you are talking about. Most of Dekalb County school's have FAMU directors. Not all of Atlanta.

the same reason most Louisiana band directors come from Southern most of them are from the area they go back to teach in., you gotta respect that. thats why i cant knock bands that are like the colleges their directors are from
mmm had to look at make sure i wasn't in the high school forum by some of the responses in here.
Id go into detail but dont really see the point, it will go over some of ya'lls heads. Once some of you go to college and graduate then you will have a better understand of what goes on, and not just take things at face value. Not being funny. just real talk.
FAMU has a heavy influence on the Atlanta Metro. Many of the directors in Dekalb Co. are FAMU graduates and are doing an excellent job of recruiting for the 100. There are other directors in the metro who are graduates from schools such as Southern, Alabama State, Mississippi Valley, Clark, and Morris Brown.
Not Atlanta, but Dekalb county school the director of music programs (not sure about the title) gradduated from FAMU. but as the old saying goes... If it aint broke, donf fix it.
our skool (stone mountain) last bd mr.riley was from famu till he got fired...and now we have a new wonderful bd mrs.biggins which is also from famu.lol
