  • mainly my dear brandon most bands are under funded so they gonna choose the cheapest way possible like playin the same music year after year or find some1 that will write for free.Another factor is if u are a true music major u can arrange your own music.therefore u have no use for a talented brother such as yourself.my advice would be to get your degree and find a job and write for your own program.
  • one word defies everything anwser u serching for....SELL. most h.s band directors wants music for free. if its not free they'll just try to get it from a college or sumthing.
  • Here is what I don't understand... Is why do people that know in their mind that their music sucks but yet still get a chance to sell their music because they know someone at a certain school. And than they brag about it like they really done something. oh and by the way Greg I'm getting my degree in October.
  • i just was about to say the same thing. if i was a band dierctor, i wiuld arrange my own music anyway because i wud feel bad if i had to purchase music from another arranger. its like wtf i went to school for if i cant hardly arrange music from my program..

another reason can be that the bd probably dont want to play th esame arrangements as other h.s. so dont bother of buying music from ppl because not going to know who playin the same arrangements as them

  • Well I understand that part I'm a real arranger and I like to write different types of music because I hate to see a band playing the music they some college or high school is playing. On the other hand some arranger sell they same music to other bands because they dont want to take the time to do another arrangement. Which I think that is just lazy.

  • Well have you allowed any of the programs to test your skills by actually using one of your demo arrangements? That may help you out and may also give you the opportunity to showcase how versatile you are...
  • Well I have did that with some high schools, but the reason that they don't buy any music from me is because my music is too hard for a high school band to play. They love the sound, But as few as a high school band playing it they will kill themselves.

  • Nah i buy arrangements all the time...
I have bought and asked for certain tunes and everything...

Yes most people want stuff for free especially when you can do it yourself as most directors are capable of doing...

give stuff away-that will create a base of support-
then charge for exclusive stuff that nobody has or will play-

arrange in levels like for middle school high school and college, some of that extra stuff can be taken out for high school and middle school without seriously affecting the arrangement.

also post up where i can check out some of your stuff...
either a band playing it or a midi or a mp3...
