Why everytime a discussion come up about louisiana high school bands the only ones the talk about is bands from B.R. or N.O.?I Dnt have nothing againt the schools in those cities (I like scotlandville... Even tho we got into it at the parade in laff-town) but I jus wanted to know why--no disrespect

Most people outside of Louisiana only know about the NO or BR bands....Any band that they don;t know, it's usually assumed that the band is either from NO or BR....Same thing with Georgia....The bands that are in Dekalb/ATL area are the bands that MOST people on this site know about. NO, BR, and ATL are the BIGGEST areas with bands in these states. Places outside of these cities really don't have a big band scene compared to.
Your school for example..
NO has Walker, Easton, Aug, Karr, Cox, 35, Carver and soo on ....
ATL has SWD, Miller Grove, Redan, Columbia, Stephenson, Mays, and soo on...
BR has Baker, McKinley, Istrouma, Scotlandville etc..

St.Martinville, Gleen Oaks, Carroll, WM, Jennerette, etc.
Dis is no disrespect but I jus wanna see some other bands round the boot get kudos and credit like they do cause those two cities Dnt make a state by thereselves...<</body>

No disrespect, but how many bands does your city have that can compete with BR and N.O. bands?..All i've ever heard of from ur area is Peabody. Same thing in GA, who else there can compete with Dekalb county?....Personally, I would love to have more cities in the state bringin heat, but until they step it up.....don't get me wrong tho..I'm not sayin everybody else is bad, but musicians aren't being "mass produced" anywhere else in the state. It's like most of the big dawgs are from either N.O. or BR so that's pretty much all we think about when it comes to Louisiana bands.
I think they are most talked about because they are the most popular.. Not saying they are better but they have more outside state influence. Because I know I go to a DeKalb Co. School in GA and when me and most of my fellow band mates think of Louisiana we think of St Aug, Walker, etc.. If I go outside of Georgia the bands people are most likely to mention are the fab 5 (Swd, Stephenson, Mlk, Redan and Miller Grove) Not to say that those are the only good bands in GA they are just the most popular.
Being real yes we the only band in Alex that can step up to a NO or BR the only being for that is...lol we got one of the cities that everybody kno everybody pretty much but what I'm saying is Monroe and shrevport(north Louisiana) the got a couple of bands on them so why not show as much love to them like they do with the south of louisiana

Maybe cause there aren't alot of representation of bands outside of N.O. or B.R. on here?
maybe people don't see LA bands outside of N.O. or B.R.?
It's the same with the SIAC or CIAA (or sometimes) the MEAC on here, a SWAC dominated site. Get some more representation and change peoples minds.
