Every year in Los Angeles, CA, Home Depot holds a battle of the bands. Over bands apply but only 8 are chosen. 4 local and 4 out of state.  This year for the first time, two bands have been selected to compete for the $10,000 top prize.

Beaumont Ozen High School (Beaumont, TX) A great program with a dynamic director who does big things

Stephen F. Austin High School (Houston, TX) Always proud of the strides we make every year. Keep it up.  First a congressional nomination now going to California.

hold it down for Texas both bands..
  • Congratulations goldy, good stuff. making great strides.
  • Does Home Depot pay for the trip or the bands have to foot the traveling bill on their own? Congrats by the way.
  • Didn't willowridge go last year?
  • No the only Texas school last year was Beaumont Ozen who got 2nd place. (I think they should have won it honestly). Ridge didnt go
  • Its nice to see my school going back to Cali next year. That was my biggest event as drum major and it was a great experience. I wish we would've won 1st but we did our best and that's all that matters. Also congrats to Stephen F. Austin who's come a long way since my first time seeing y'all at the 2006-2007 MLK battle of the bands from my freshman year. I hope both bands do great at the battle next year.
