2 Texas Schools selected for BOTB in Los Angeles

Every year in Los Angeles, CA, Home Depot holds a battle of the bands. Over bands apply but only 8 are chosen. 4 local and 4 out of state.  This year for the first time, two bands have been selected to compete for the $10,000 top prize.

 

Beaumont Ozen High School (Beaumont, TX) A great program with a dynamic director who does big things

 

Stephen F. Austin High School (Houston, TX) Always proud of the strides we make every year. Keep it up.  First a congressional nomination now going to California.

    Does Home Depot pay for the trip or the bands have to foot the traveling bill on their own? Congrats by the way.

    No the only Texas school last year was Beaumont Ozen who got 2nd place. (I think they should have won it honestly). Ridge didnt go

    Its nice to see my school going back to Cali next year. That was my biggest event as drum major and it was a great experience. I wish we would've won 1st but we did our best and that's all that matters. Also congrats to Stephen F. Austin who's come a long way since my first time seeing y'all at the 2006-2007 MLK battle of the bands from my freshman year. I hope both bands do great at the battle next year.
