Even though there should be a zero tolerance policy on hazing, it still happens...and CLEARLY not just n the band community. Robert D. Champion's death needs to serve as a constant thorny-catalyst in each of our sides to stop ALL hazing, not just hazing within the HBCU band community!!!The link below is from a site with a detailed history of death related incidents involving hazing all the way back to 1838 @Kentucky! i was gonn respond to this post...but yeah. to see similar events go back as ar as 1834..even though many of them were accidental...idk. I was surprised at how many times University of Texas showed up on there!!! well...scratch that, not surprised at all. i really hope these events stop. too much has happened...
You know how them white folk are they love to air black business versus their own. I remember when I was at SU and a shooting could have occurred near the campus and it was reported a shooting at SU, yet a murder happens at LSU and you hear nothing. The bigger issue is lives being ended from hazing black or white HBCU or PWC it needs to stop
Hell Band Directors even use mental hazing and they really realize that they don't. One never has to hit anyone to have discipline. I never have understood that mentality, when i really sit back and look at it. I must get back to Gram to talk to my peeps so this never happens there. I would be embarrassed.

It's like those who I call "mis-informed parents" and thier parenting skills: It is definitely possible to raise a child SUCCESSFULLY w/o beating them! When I hear about or witness parents who physically abuse their children, I cant help but question their intelligence. Physical abuse in ANY situation should ALWAYS be an EXTREME BUT ABSOLUTELY NECCESSARY LAST RESORT!!!!!!!!!!
