- Bowling- Alabama A&M does not open its bowling season until December, but the Bulldogs open the season as the #11 team in the country, according the National Tenpins Coaches Association (NTCA) national preseason poll. Nebraska is the near-unanamous choice as the top team in the country, and Alabama A&M is the highest ranked among three Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) schools in the Top 20. Southern broke in the poll at #14, and Jackson State is #19.
- Tennis- For the third straight season, the Alabama A&M men's soccer program has been honored among the top scholastic teams in the nation by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). The award is presented to teams that carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and above. The Bulldogs also earned the honor in 2007 and 2008. Head coach Salah Yousif's 2009 squad is carrying a cumulative GPA of 3.18
-Volleyball -The Alabama A&M volleyball team has its sights set on another Southwestern Athletic Conference title. The three-time defending champs return five players

AAMU "Showband of the South" MMW Marching Maroon and White
The Band was also invited to represent the state of Alabama in the National Independence Day Parade sponsored by the United States Department of the Interior and the National Park Serviceon July 4, 1998 in Washington, D.C.
During the year of 2000., the "Marching Maroon & White" Band was presented in music documentary film titled "Take the Field". The band can currently be heard playing on the cd by Lucy Pearl called "Dance Tonight", (the remix #15 ("Lucy Pearls Tells"). The Wind Symphony, Concert Band and the Marching Band can all be heard on their latest cd.
By votes of universities presidents, athletic conference directors and the general public, the "Marching Maron and White" Band was selected to perform in the Honda Battle of the Bands in Atlanta Georgia on January 30, 2005 at the Georgia Dome.
The "Marching Maroon and White" Band marched at Disneyland in Anaheim, California on December 31, 2005.
On January 2, 2006, the "Marching Maroon & White Band was the lead band for the Annual 117th tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California.
The "Marching Maroon and White" Band was one of the featured bands for halftime during the United States Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas at the Alamo Dome on January 7, 2006
