Hello All:
Name is J.C.E. Brown, Director of Bands at Medgar Evers College Prep. I am seeking an arranger who is able to arrange for the Medgar Evers East Coast Ocean of Soul. An ideal candidate will be able to:
1. Write music on appropriate for our ensemble, and new/original pieces specifically for this band only. (We don't use stock arrangments).
2. Understand the style of music that we execute.
3. Get arrangments out to us quickly.
4. Use finale 2009 or lower or mail music to us.
5. Be able to write in any time signature and key signature
6. Be able to write chorales and warm ups.
7. An ideal candidate has either attended or has an understanding musical styles of one or more of the following schools: Jackson State University, Southern University or Texas Southern University. (Members of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and Kappa Kappa Psi Inc. are preferred but not required).
8. An ideal candidate will include contact information and be able to speak with a representative of the band staff immediately.
We can pay up to $45 per arrangement and are looking to contract you for 20 arrangements. Please send a short letter of introduction and a snippet of your best ballad and other work to: JSMLeadership@gmail.com.
