Grand Champ:Memorial HighBig Band Div:MemorialMcKinleyInstroumaMcMainSmall Band Div:ClintonDonaldsonvilleI was glad to have the chance to attend Baker's BOTB. After almost not making it (contiplating watching the LSU game), I was able to catch a seat as Baker was performing. I will intiate the comment about the BOTB. First and foremost the band of ceremonies...BakerBaker: I am really impressed with you guys! After a short stint out of the band scene, yall have returned on the map and still exhibit the pride that I used to see years ago. The fieldshow was nice and the song selections were straight as well. I notice that Jackson's last director is now with yall. Is that who they call Mr. Walker? Anyhow, that spirit of intensity that Jackson used to have at shows have not touched yall yet, but Im confident it will. And get yall a drum major again lol Yall used to have some nice drum majors back a few years. Overall Good job and congrats on a successful botb!Small BandDonaldsonville: After seeing a thunderous year the past season, you guys have returned a second time with an goal on yall minds...to put it on some folks minds lol I always enjoyed watching this band. There was a time (not long ago) where yall had a drum major who was a str8 fool. The one yall have now is straight..but he don't do back bends..or maybe that was another school. There were a few errors that prevented yall from taking the win; some the fault of yall and others out of yall control. The fieldshow started slow and without intensity. I kinda looks as if many of you didn't know when to start. However, as the show progressed things picked up. The song selection was cool as well. I was frustrated with the mic not working for the lady singing, yet I believe she did a tremendous job considering the conditions she was placed in. All and still..Donaldsonville you guys are stepping back on the scene and I look forward to seeing what DVille has in store for the future.Clinton: I'm glad to see you guys back in actions. Yall look good and were uniform on the field. The song selection was cool. As most bands out, yall were lacking in sound projection during the drills. I am sure that was do to so many concentrating on the show though. There were some mistake on the fieldshow as well. Luckily yall didnt have as many errors as DVille and that's what gave yall the win. At and rate, you deserved first and I can definatley say I am glad to see a representative ftom East Feliciana Parish back in the marching sport. Good job and I look forward to hear more from Clinton.Big BandsMcMain- Man yall came deep! Nice Aux and Flags. I am glad to see a band from the N.O. area to come and represent. There has been a stereotype placed on N.O. bands that they can blow their arses off but can't pick up a foot for nothing. The fieldshow yall presented looked as if it was in error during much of the show. Many were not making 8 to 5 due to their lack of high knee lift and tacking full marching steps. The concert formation appeared to be 10 yards off (maybe that was planned though). The sound was small on the field also. In the stands though..yall were smaching. I would suggest getting that stands sounds on the field as well. This is not in any way taking from yall pride yall exhibited. I have seen yall in a few BOTB in recent times so Im sure yall are in the maturing process and will be a force to reckon with in Louisiana soon.Instrouma: In my opinion the most shock of the night! This band has grown and improved tremendously in the past like 2 years. When I saw them getting out the stands my mouth dropped. They are deep and certainly back on the scene. Congrats to the build up! There were mistakes on the filed. The sound is not quite there yet niether but really no band had a projecting sound last night in my opinion. Yall look damn good and sound very good in the stands. Yall were cutting through other bands when they started playing. Yall are building a following and fan base. It is good to see Instrouma return on the scene!Mckinley: Mckinley has always been known to do what they are going to do. They have a tradition that I thought had fallen off last year. No disrespect but when I saw yall last year I said one word..horrible lol I see now how a band can shift directions quickly depending on the band director. I enjoyed the fieldshow and the circle into the heart was creative. As well all the sound wasnt there but the drill was in tack for the most part. Keep up the good work. The stands were decent with yall. Yall kept it mello ..played neck and got the crowd going. Always a good thing. I hear yall are having a BOTB soon. I will be there to catch yall in action once more!Memorial High: Well Mr. Johnson has done it again! Come to Baton Rouge and take home the gold. There were many supporters there. Memorial had nice drills and as with all there were mistakes and the sounds was not projected...yet and still I believe Memorial was the best well balanced band of the night. They sounded good when facing the stands. They were creative and I certainly see why yall and Mckinley cut it close. I could have agreed if either of yall had won. Yall sound good in the stands also..I can tell yall work on balance and not power..very good! I hope to see more of yall in the future..that's if yall come to BR area..lolOverall it was a good night..didn;t have to work and was able to catch some of the band fever I used to get many years ago.So tell me what yall think?....

I pretty much agree with everything you said. I will say that every band that was in attendance has some excellent potential if they continue to work hard and keep improving.
