I am from New Orleans Area and I am very hurt to that this disagreement is taking place over the internet. Directors of both LLI and SOD your kids as kids as the well rest of the band world is getting missed signals from this topic because you say you guys are teaching discipline and musicianship skills both at LLI and SOD but talking down about another Director of Programs doesn’t make you the bigger man. Tiller I saw when you was at Scotlandville in Baton Rouge that band really wasn’t that impressive then your stay at Saint Augustine High (a respectable program because of the late Edwin Hampton). St Aug was never the top band in New Orleans in those two years known that you are the director at LLI had many good band directors before your time at LLI. I was at the BOTB on the visitor side and LLI wasn’t the best program out there to me. Every band that was out there really needs some work because if you an ALL STAR BAND when you step out and perform you have to bring you’re A game every where you go. Band directors please stay off of here on Bandhead blasting one another because it only causes tension among the kids at the different high school. Tiller I did Google you and it only shows that you have a certification and not a Bachelor Degree in Music Education. You were a Biology Teacher at Scotlandville High and TEMP as Band Director. 80 percent of the staff from SOD have Bachelor Degrees from Southern University and marched all 4 years under Doctor Isaac Greggs and from what I saw them all on there Southern Jukebox Letterman Jackets on Saturday. I really enjoyed myself on Saturday at the BOTB and I would love to come back to Baton Rouge and see LLI vs. SOD.
