Hi when you are trying to get a band scholarship do you audition for the band first or do you apply for the school then wait to see if they will accept you? And I'm planning on going to a school out of state do i need to take the SATP and the ACT(with or without the writing part?) to get in the school? I am coming from Broad Street High School located in Shelby, Mississippi and the college i am really looking at is Texas Southern. And this is my last and final question for my audition i plan on sending a video to them playing all my rudiments and me playing the Quads, Bells, and Tenor Drum. I was wondering when they put you on drum do you play that the entire time you are in college or not, because I dont think my Quad skills are ready for the college level yet and i want to play tenor in my freshman year and over the summer practice on the quads then play quads the rest of my college years but i dont know. So if you have any answers for a confuse senior in high school i'm all ears.

Most of the questions you asked are answered on those two pages. Any further questions can be answered by sending an e-mail or making a phone call to either office (both offices have their contact info on the page). In the future, just type in the name of the school that you're looking to attend in a reliable search engine (google.com, yahoo.com, aol.com, etc.) and navigate to the prospective student and music department sections respectively to satisfy your inquiries. It's the information age and it's out there... you just have to go and get it. Good luck young brother.
