Just heard that after 20 + years state farm is dropping its sponsorship. Does this mean a new sponsor might pick it up or will others drop out? And will New Orleans ever give some fair prices on hotels?Please let's discuss this with sense no BS blaming it on the bands.

The Bayou Classic is not in trouble. Many sponsors drop from classics as well as bowl games. The Sugar Bowl was once sponsored by Nokia its now sponsored by All-State. Fed-Ex no longer sponsors the Orange Bowl. This happens all the time. However, what has to happen though is the Administrations from both Grambling and Southern will have to come together and reach out to different sponsors. But im almost sure that because of the tradition of the Bayou Classic and the two schools and what it tepresents a sponsor will pick up the game. Bayou Classic not in trouble at all.
Do you know what this means for MCC?....I'm kind of worried now because I know thousands of people tune into this classic game every year, whether it is in person or by t.v. Two great HBCU'S with a HUGE fan base so I know they will be fine as far as picking up another major sponsor, and the game will not even be affected.They have a great venue in a PRIME location. The thing that i'm wondering is if state farm is having some sort of financial trouble. I have so many questions right now. #confusedashell.
Lord you can Tell some don't know about business. Bayou Classic was here before State Farm came in as a sponsor and will be here post State Farm. Just opens the door for other sponsors. State Farm is going through restructuring so I'm not shocked. You don't need a title sponsor to survive. Check out the quote:

05 southwest airlines sponsered the bayou classic. It happens. Disney stopped sponsering the fl classic and went to meac swac challenge and fl classic get 10 times more attendance. But that dnt mean anything is in trouble.

State Farm basically is saying that there was no return for their investment.
"State Farm is continually evaluating all of its sponsorships and marketing strategies and periodically making adjustments," State Farm's Vice President of Public Affairs David Beigie tells our CBS-affiliated station WAFB-TV. He added that the change was also prompted by the company wanting to have "more of an on-the-ground presence and engage more directly with its customers or potential customers."

You will see a new sponsor emerge soon and hopefully they will do some things to put more butts in the seats once again.

That's actually true, State Farm really had nothing to do with the actual in-game experience.
