  • From what Ive read on my band it seems 2006 and the past year's band (2010) were chosen.

06 had that angriness in it that tenacity and fire in it that you could feel in the way they played I see the weakness as being the sloppiness and in some clips its way out there about just how far they went.

2010 was strong resurgence, and the "pie-yaa" (some folks will understand) returned a little bit harder than years since but, the trumpets aren't as strong as you would like. The cleanliness was very apparent as compared to any other year.

SN: HS are giving slightly more attention to being clean and it's apparent in most of the stronger bands now..

  • FVSU - 04 Mainly, 05 and 09 thrown out there

04 - The book of the band was probably the deepest. The numbers and balance was the best in history, not too bottom heavy and not too top heavy. This was prolly the biggest the band had ever been. The attitude of the band was a "TAKE NO PRISONERS! BACK DOWN FROM NO CHALLENGE" attitude and it showed through the music

    05 - like 04, just EXTREMELY bottom heavy. 20+ tubas, 10+ trombones, 5-6 btones,  8 trumpets (O_O)

09 - started off with a nice size and 04 attitude. Internal issues caused people to drop, but the attitude stayed in spite of depleted numbers. Book was semi decent, coulda been a lot deeper.

  • The level of talent, focus and discipline are what set each edition from any other...

The 2004 edition of the Storm, IMO had a good mix of phenomenal talent, and focus, and kinda caught the tail end of the discipline.

-And this comment is coming from someone who bronzed his boots before the 2004 season.  By then, I was a Marching Storm Alum and my time in the band was done.  So this isn't a biased comment.
