actual bands located within baton rouge city limits?
Glen Oaks-havent seen them this year but usually they are consistant on the field.they lack cleaness and always tend to overblow and lose control while playing.they balance themselves out, them doing well on fieldshow and also being a house pleaser does them well.
Scotlandville- the most powerfull band in BR.yea im saying they the loudest because they are. i guess that means alot to some. they march well on the field, but they also have some sound issues with control.yea the trumpets are gettin up there but is it as clean as it could be?
Istrouma- also good on the field.the arugement could be made that istrouma is the cleanest band in BATON ROUGE.they also have sum faults too, they are a young band and there is some noticable skating going on in certain sections. only room to get better since less than 10 seniors are leaving the band.
Mckinley-fieldshow wise mck is one of the best.its just a consistant program.not really much to speak upon.
SU lab-doing a damn good to say no one in the band appears to be in HS yet.
I think its a toss up between Mckinley and scottlandville. Both have there pros and cons. Both trumpet sections have a good range with a decent tone. F horns have a slight edge to Mck but slv still coming out. Baritones go to slv. Trombones also go to slv but with mckinley only having 11 compared to around 17. I consider that only a slight edge. On the field both have a nice full sound. you here each section nice and full. Mck shows like Samuel said are one of the best no doubt to me to be the best. So to me its a toss up between these two programs. Both are doing great things.
Istrouma- not really a mature sound but lots of kids are new to the program. That could be why there is a lot skating being done. trumpets do a little to much moving sometimes. Overall program to watch for.

Yeah, Baker isn't in the Baton Rouge city limits so them and East Feliciana wouldn't count in this topic.
