Word on the street is that Edwin "Pops" Bigsby is stepping down as band director in Aug 2009. Is this true? Anyone with information please respond. If true he will be the last of the old guard at Washington School.

TO BE HONEST BOOKER T WOULD BE ALOT BETTER IF POP STEPPED DOWN..BUT AT THE SAME TIME....I HAVE TO GIVE THAT OLD KAT SOME CREDIT.....HE DOSE KEEP THE TRADITION GOING AT BTW..AND HAVE VERY GOOD FEILD SHOWS.... NOW THE SOUND MIGHT NOT BE ALL THAT GOOD..BUT HE STICK TO HIS STYLE AND HIS STYLE ONLY..I CAN GREATLY RESPECT ANY( BD) THAT DOSE JUST THAT

I remember when Booker T. Washington use to be a beast! Pops knew how to put on a field show. I mean they wasn't on the legendary level of Willowridge/Smiley/Forest Brook, but you knew you were in for a hella battle when you went against the Baby Ocean of Soul.

Pops has been about to step down for a few years now....I beleive it when I see it...Somebody please go to thier feeders because they were the only school In HISD That I knew of that started kids in Elementary (Burros used to have a nice band, I might have spelled that wrong)
