Ok everybody. We all see what the SWAC RULES have done to the biggest band rivalry in the SWAC. The game was quiet with both bands on SILENT for most of the night. The fifth was destroyed with the good ol' "5 and out" rule the SWAC is enforcing now. The Boombox Classic has been turned from the best game in the SWAC to a mild mannered, quiet, non-intense matchup between two bands THE CLASSIC WAS NAMED AFTER (Boombox)!!!!! When is enough, enough?? I think we should all boycott the classic in Fall 2010, or at least wear shirts in blue/white(jsu), or blue/yellow(su) that say, "I can't take no mo' SWAC RULES have to go!!" Think about it...what would we really miss at the game? Silence from our favorite bands? The actual football game? It's getting out of control yall, how do you guys feel. who really wants to sit through another classic like '09??

not sure i agree with u on this 1 jgrows.i know a couple of games(swac)that wasn't 5 and out in the 5th.this may have been something but swac rules idk.good idea though if it comes out that it was swac rules i say do it.and this year the 5th was whack.
i will add this swac rules have nothin to do when u r at your own stadium maybe during the game but b4 and after i think not.its the discretion of the bd how long u stay because i know in mumford we r gonna stay til the opposing band leaves and i guarantee u on homecomin it wont be 5 and out and if this game woulda been in mumford it wouldnt been 5 and out
Man it's like they trying to destroy our band programs in this conference that is known FOR ITS BANDS. First they put the time limit on field shows in the 90's, then the "SWAC rules" in '08, and now this is our second SWAC game where "5 in the fifth" happened. Then you have a one hour pregame that sometimes you have to battle around special presentations!! Man the SWAC is killing us and I think it should be some form of protest to get our point across. I talked to some of my dogs at su and they agree the classic this year was not intense. h#ll we should have had that BOTB the night before if the game was gonna be like that..
In PB stadium they used to didn't care now they are on this get off the field after a certain amount of time ..ESPECIALLY if we LOSE the game ..boy have times changed
the 5 & out that happened....was decided by SU management....Boom has no say-so at an SU home game....
and as yall can see, Murray will follow the SWAC rules all the time.....only play when u got the ball...and between dead ball and when the QB is under the center....y u think they played the fight song like 20+ times *lol*
Now come on Deschaun...was this game ANYTHING like in 06??? When you had the announcer asking the bands to stop playing!?? LOL. "The show" cutting through, "Ice Cream Man" cutting back. That was a Boombox classic!! And, yall did play a couple of times without a response from us, cuz you have the SWAC commissioner breathing down our neck and threatening the boom with 5,000 fines. The boombox is becoming too rated G for me, with all these restrictions and fines being tossed around. Its not like it was..thats why we should boycott, to get this thing back to "rated R" lol. seriously though.
