The THETA LAMBDA Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi at the University of Memphis, is looking into hosting a floor show competition for Memphis area high school bands in late April 2010. We are looking for any assistance and suggestions to aid us in planning a successful event. Please respond with your ideas and past experiences from either performing in or hosting a competition yourself. If you have video links that's cool too. We as a chapter are truly trying to fulfill the purposes of the organization, and this competition would help our program greatly. Thanks for your support in advance.

Contact Whitehaven or Mitchell Band Hall about setting it up, invite Pine Bluff High from Pine Bluff-AR, Greenville Weston High from Greeville-MS, Rosa Fort High from Tunica-MS, and Whitehaven, Kiurby, Fairley, Mitchell
dont just get memphis schools reach out to other states like mississippi,texas,louisiana,michigan,illinois, and see who might be interested in doing that,....real talk...and invite at least two college bands like TnSU,UAPB,JSU, or even Valley it can be a good recruitment tool...
All of the responses are greatlt appreciated. We don't even know where to start planning for the event. If anyone has done one of these before and has some plans, contest rules, advertisements, etc. that we could look at, it would be please let us take a look.

LOOK AT PROGRAMS LIKE MELROSE,OAKHAVEN, CRAIGMONT,RALIEGH EGYPT, SOUTHAVEN, MILLINGTON CENTRAL, POSSIBLY EVEN OUT-OF-STATERS LIKE CASS TECH,DAAS, OSBORN, KING out of detroit; LEFLORE CO HS, CANTON, EASTSIDE HS, J.J. MCCLAIN out of MS, AND PLEASE DONT FORGET MISSISSIPPI DELTA COMMUNITY COLLEGE AND COAHOMA COMMUNITY COLLEGE THE COMMUNITY COLLEGES NEVER GET INVITED!!!
