Capitol High School Baton Rouge

Can anybody from Baton Rouge tell me when the Students - Parents -School Official - Baton Rouge Music Community will get a Band program going at Capitol. It was sad to play Capitol in Donaldsonville this year in a playoff atomsphere triple overtime in football and Capitol not have a band in the stadium.  What going on over at Capitol.

    they are tryin to get something goin over there but it's been alot of red tape all we can do is hope for the best ya know

    Here is an angle that Capital can take when trying to get the administration to get the band back. The school did not eliminate the football program or the basketball program yet stats show that students who study music do better in the classroom than those who do sports. I heard the a school official state that the reason for cutting the band program was to allow the students to concentrate on academics - If that was true then why didn't the football and basketball programs at Capital get cut. Bandheads from Capital really need to push this issue.

    Former SU dancing doll ,Casey Greggs mama was Miss Capitol back in the day !!!   I forgot what year !!  Capitol used to be known for there High-Steppers Lionettes and the most beautiful girls in the Capital City WXOK !!!!
