yeah i saw this band about 2 or 3 yrs ago at hoover,al. for the national band competition.they were a lot smaller but their sound was very good.i cant tell you how impressed i was with this band.they played against bands 2 or even 3 times their size and outshined them all very easily.i knew then this was a special band and im glad to see that they are reeping the benefits from all their hard work.i would like to give a very bigups to the ballou high school marching band for representing all black high school bands very well and much continued success to you all.this proves that WITH HARD WORK AND DEDICATION ANY AND ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.
u should had seen them 4-5 years ago when they looked horible n 20yo uniform broken instruments and marching 50 members strong. now they pushin 100 with all new unis and instruments. i cant wait for next season, cause the other 2 bands n DC are coming up. they might not been through wut ballou have, but they are historic black programs who once had fame that ballou has now, GO DC! the city of the '' hybrid'' marching band
honestly I get happy anytime I see a Black band marching in the Rose Bowl. There is never more than one or two every year though
by the way that was funny when the guy was at attention and wouldnt move when Ellen hit then he turned and smiled at the last minute.. too cute
REally though, Ballou, I am happy for you guys. Its not too often that a black high school band gets this type of positive exposure and keep doing a good job. If you guys are reading this, please continue to do what you are doing. Tell your band director keep it up to. After watching these clips, I feel as if its my band's accomplishment Im so proud. ANyway best of luck in the future
thanks everyone we had a lot of fun and Mr.Watson was very emotional because his dream has always been to march in the rose bowl parade and he got to live his dream and we were lucky enough to live it with him. so thanx everyone
