Wuz up yal im a senior and im trying to decide on attending school for fall 2010 majoring in music technology. My top 2 choices are Florida A&M and Jackson State University. Can anyone help or post their opinions.

if both of them match-up very well in your major department, visit both schools and see which one gives you a better vibe.....see which one is more AFFORDABLE (biggggggg element in college decision).......speak with professors, fellow student.....see whats around the city (in Jackson, not much sorry....don't know much about Tallahassee).....all these play a factor in your college decision
Alright thanks guys I was just trying to figure out if florida a&m had the music tech major tho becuase i didnt see it on the major list but music majors they're tell me they do.
My advice would be to pick the school or school with the strongest music program. I'd check and see about many of their gradustes got work right after graduation no to mention what type of positions they landed,where and how they are doing.
Take a look and the classes that the major comprises also to make sure it is what your looking for. Dont just pick a school based on rep or name, it could bite you in the butt later. Also dont go off he say she say, if cant physically make it to the campus for a tour or to speak with professors at the very least email them or call them directly and get it straight from them.
from forums I've read online, just getting the music tech. [like audio engineering] degree is not much of an advantage.. make sure wherever you decide has an INTERNSHIP PROGRAM!!!!
seeing that ima a WILDCAT!!!!!! i say bethune cookman lol.. we have 5 performance already awaiting us n dis month alone... MLK PARADE AND BOTB N MIAMI, ST. PETE PARADE AND BOTB... AS WELL AS DA PRO BOWL IN MIAMI HALFTIME OR PRE GAME PERFORMANCE!!!! we did super bowl pre game last yr lol....its undeniable.. but in your case fam is the best school their music program ( EDUCATION WISE lol) is phenominal....its alot of directors, and producers that have graduated from fam... good luck in your decision and hav a great college career... P.S. band is not to be put beofre your school work plz remember that as a freshman you'll c!! PEACE!!
