Not because im arrogant when it comes down to my school
But soley because the band thatwon first place was HUGE..
and its easy to get caught up in the allusion that the biggest and loudest band is the best..
but hey Its not our fault we're small.. But i know for a fact that WE kickked everybodyys assses
And we dont need no trophy to to tell us that
I'm usually not one for conspiracies, but it's wierd that Austin gets 2nd practically every year........
I remember when we(Ozen)won in 2006 and Austin got 2nd, their drumline was even in the finals and got 2nd. I won't comment on 07,08,09 because we weren't there but I heard about it!!!,,,,, Could this battle be losing its credibility? After all, they only had 1 judge that knew anything about band whereas 4 years ago they had 3 qualified judges for band and for the drumline competition they actually had judges(percussion people) walking thru your line while they performed checking technique, precision & such.. I guess things have changed a lot.
PERSONALLY I FEEL THAT WE(OZEN) SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN 1ST OR MAYBE EVEN 2ND...BUT 3RD WAS NOT EVEN AN OPTION. WE WORKED TO HARD FOR THAT. AUSTIN BARLEY DID A REAL DRILL...AND HOUSTON DID DO A GOOD SHOW...BUT THE FACT THAT THOSE TWO BANDS WERE BIG...AND THERE DRUMLINES WERE HUGE(FOR NO REASON)....WAS PROBLY A FACTOR IN THERE DECISION....BUT IT WAS STILL A NICE EXPERIANCE EVEN THOUGH IT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER...{{BLUEWAVE B-TONE 4LIFE}
Nt all d time is about bein big...is bout d quality of d sound hw organized d band is etc n hw well d show is perform...las yr willowridge n some band from dallas were on a botb n I ws sittin wit ma scool (worthin) n tht dallas band ws soooo huge tht took d wholeeee field n willowridge ws smaller n won 1st so is nt bout big is bout d "performance".....God bless...y'all did a good job though...
