Aight ppl im gone try to attempt a trip down memory lane and jog some memories with this one, but i need help..............Does anyone remember the 1st SWAC Championship Game wit da U and J State? Well hopefully u also remember that it was also the sight of the First Ever SWAC BOTB....It was also the first and only time I know of where there was that many SWAC bands in attendance, minus just GSU and PV I think, but I cant really remember 2 much bout this, so if i could get any help...........1. Who all was there as far as the bands2. What ever happen to that concept?3. Did they perform field shows pre-game or post?4. Do you think it was garbage or good ish??5. i don't remember this personally.....and if it did happen im surprised nobody ever brought this back up......
sounds like a pretty good concept....but given all the logistics of the situation, paying for each band to come over, hotel accommodations, ya-da-ya-da-ya......ion think it would work in todays world....
i wish tho...
It was a post game battle that consisted of field show from each band (S.U. and j-state didnt participate). Alcorn won the battle and took home the trophy for first place. Thats all I can remember...
I have the tape of the all-around stands battle.....everybody was good except for valley they was iight...the bama schools and PB crushed....PV/TXSU and GSU didn't show...Alcorn was a beast too ..SU and JSU didn't participate because heck they was playing in the game afterwards
I was there. I marched at Alcorn and it was my crab year. It was great. Could've had more fans but it was a good experience. None of the Texas bands made it out there though and that was a let down. We did really well just like we had all year. '99 was a banner year for Alcorn.
the battle was very boring like a battle for 3rd,4th and 5th place after the winners have been announced at a race.thats why su and jsu didnt participate.
riiiite.smh..lol they had a game to play...why participate
