DRUMLINE:A NEW BEAT AUDITIONS
VH-1 and Fox Television Studios are looking for talented instrumentalists and dancers for a possible role in a television movie.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 18 years of age by June 2, 2014. Auditions are comprised of two stages: preliminary auditions and final auditions.
PRELIMINARY AUDITIONS
Preliminary auditions will be held Saturday, May 10th, at Miller Grove High School,Address: 2645 Dekalb Medical Pkwy, Lithonia, GA 30058 beginning at 10:00 a.m. Registration will go from 7:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. and auditions will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. There will be at least 1 cut on Saturday for preliminaries. This audition is not open to the public.
FINAL AUDITIONS
Final auditions will be held on Sunday, May 11th at Miller Grove High School. You must pass the preliminary audition in order to make it to the finals.
INSTRUMENTALIST ATTIRE: Wear comfortable athletic attire, similar to a marching band rehearsal. You will have to play your instrument as well as march and dance.
DANCER ATTIRE: A two-piece leotard (bra top and dance trunks), skin-tone/matte tights and tennis or dance shoes (color of your choice). No dance pants, please!
WHAT TO BRING: Instrument (instruments will not be provided), a valid photo ID, a light lunch, water. Lunch will not be provided and concessions will not be open - bring any food or drinks you may need.
Please plan on staying all day, as finalists will be announced following the second cut.
DRUMMERS & SOUSAPHONES: We realize that most people don’t own Sousaphones, Bass Drums, and Quints. Therefore, we will make every effort to provide these instruments if a request is made in advance.
MUSIC: Be prepared to play extended scales (major and chromatic), as well as a prepared solo or etude, which does not exceed 1 minute. Everyone will be expected to participate in a full band rehearsal.
PERCUSSION: Be prepared to play rudiments as well as a prepared solo or etude, which does not exceed 1 minute. We would also like to see your best sticking and tricks. Everyone will be expected to participate in a full band rehearsal.
