Florida A & M's band director will remain in charge of the "Marching 100" while Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigates the death of a drum major after the Florida Classic last month.
The FAMU board of trustees met in Orlando Wednesday to get an update on the investigation and reports of hazing at the school.
FAMU says it received a letter from Florida Department of Law Enforcement last week, asking the school to suspend all disciplinary actions while FDLE's investigation continued. The state was worried any action taken by FAMU would hinder their criminal investigation.
That means four band members who were expelled in connection with the death of a drum major are preparing for their final exams, instead of leaving the school. The school has also suspended its own investigation into the incident.
Robert Champion, a drum major for the band, died after the Florida Classic last month in a possible hazing incident. His family is planning to sue the school.
White was fired in the wake of Champion's death. The school claimed he did not do enough to prevent hazing incidents. White, however, says the school made him out to be a scapegoat. His attorney said White would seek legal action if he did not get to keep his job when all this is over.
The board also got an update on the Orange County Sheriff's Office's investigation into Champion's death. Sheriff Jerry Demings said the investigation will likely not be done until next month. Demings says he is still waiting for a final report from the medical examiner.

FAMU BD is the Illuminati...lmao betta yet the BOULE...lmfaooo j/k...wonder why the let everybody back..hmmm
Did you even read ONE BIT of the article???? lol. they reversed it because you cant take disciplinary action while on-going investigations are in process. Same with SU and their old athletic director...they fired him before the investigation into the prostitution sting was complete. only difference is they still found away to keep his ass away from SU. but i think the lawsuit is still pending.

Dr. White has not been reinstated. He is on paid leave which he's been on since Nov. 24. His termination wasn't supposed to take effect until Dec. 22 anyway.
SMH. This whole situation is just buffoonery at it's best. That man needs to pack his bags and go catch one of these other open slots at a different school and continue his musical legacy while he still has a half decent reputation.
Side note, i did recently catch word of a certain someone who's gunning for the spot at FAMU! O_O
Guess this case will keep us all connected and entertained during the concert season. -_-
is it Cornell Knighten?
Nah. he gud from wat i hear at SCSU. We talkn bout Dr. Julian White at FAMU.
Sidenote: I wish Cornell would get back to SU! Miss that sound!

It's going to take a special person to maintain the band after this. I can only think of a handful of directors that can walk in there and handle that task, my guess would be a Dekalb County BD.
Anywyas, firing Dr. White won't be a good move, the board will hand Ammons his walking papers before Dr. White.

If white is fired they need to put DON P ROBERTS in charge. Don P Roberts is the man who made SWD what they are and not to mention he is a alumni of Famu. I mean he has done it all including start Drumline Live. He is currently over all the music programs in DeKalb County. If anybody he defiently has what it takes.
