TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - April 4, 2012 -
Florida A&M University is making plans in case the famed Marching 100 band is not available during the fall football season.
FAMU trustees heard a lengthy presentation on Wednesday about a more than $1 million deficit in the school's athletic program. It was during that discussion that FAMU officials acknowledged that they are looking at offering other entertainment in case the popular band remains on suspension.
FAMU President James Ammons suspended the band in the wake of the death of FAMU death major Robert Champion last November. He died following what police said was hazing while the band was in Orlando.
Trustees will consider Wednesday whether to adopt a new rule that requires all students and faculty to report allegations of hazing to police within 24 hours.

WCTV.tv Will have more information at 6pm and i will add more information for everyone.
Well FAMU B.O.T. Is discussing that this week. If Dr. Ammons Keep the band on supension there will be a 7 million drop in Fall Profits.
I really hope Ammons lift the suspension.
It really is but if Ammons don't come to a decision soon Rick Scott the Governor will have his Job. Scott wanted the B. O. T. To suspend Ammons because he did nothing to prevent the hazing allegations Dr. White sent him back in october. there is so much coming to light here at the hill.

I think the FAMU Marching Band should take a year off to straighten things up. They're doing all this "commit to stop hazing", and anti hazing crap, and NOTHING is going to change. Smh
I think the entire program needs to be cleaned from top to bottom and should be suspended for a least a year or two. Apparently the system in place clearly does not work. On top of that just last week it turns out that hazing occurred at a BAND DIRECTORS HOUSE and was reported but was never turned over to Tallahassee Police. It's a shame that it has to take someone to die before people on the hill open their damn eyes, especially when there are hazing allegations just about every year.
100 needs to remain suspended. Dont let this little "anti-hazing campaign" they are having fool you. This band has repetitively shown blatant dis-regard to following hazing laws. Band directors should all be fired, anyone who has participated in the Marching 100 shouldn't be allowed to march anymore. I find that to be the only way other than completely suspending the band for 5 or 6 years.
Jackson, it wasn't a Band Director's house, it was a member of the Band Staff, also it didn't have anything to do with the "100", technically it was KKPsi, but we know how that goes. The case is also two years old, and no charges were filed, Ammons just decided that it's easier to put them to paid leave.
I'm under the idea the two things will happen:
1. The "100" will have a year off.
2. The "100" will only be allowed to play at majors games. I heard around campus, that The "100"'s is obligated to play at certain events because of contracts, or the school would lose that money.
I'm leaning towards the first thing though, as I'm starting to make plans to visit some other schools during there big game.
