For my New Orleans family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As i sit here more than 1000 miles away from home, I dwell on what today represents. It is the 4 year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. I will not get too deep into my feelings (which are pretty down at this time) but i will take this time to celebrate this family of the bandhead network.I remember the weekend leading up to the hurricane. The talk of the kids excitement of the upcoming season. Tonight is the St Augustine Jamboree, taking place as we speak. It was going to be a night of bands battling, crowds gathering and enjoying the tradition leading to the fall festivities. All of that was taken away by one of the most devastating storms of our time. But as i sit here thinking of that fateful day, i cant help but to think of this night. A night where our kids are back into the stands of Tad Gormeley Stadium continuing the tradition of our past.I always see topics about "when was the best era or who was the best". But before i decided to start this topic i thought "We are coming back" Will it ever be what it used to be? We never know. But tonight they continue what we all love. The tradition of music and this is what New Orleans is all about "The Music".This is what it should be about. Not what era was the best. Because if we think about it, we should be grateful that these kids have the chance to even compare to the bands of the past. I am grateful to see the bands in the city carry on the tradition of music in the city of New Orleans. Lets sit back and enjoy the entertainment these kids will provide, show support and not compare them to the bands of the past. Because after Katrina we all know that New Orleans will never be what it used to be. But embrace it for what it is. New Orleans!
