Grambling Band Scholarship Info. VERY VERY IMPORTANT!

READ VERY CAREFULLY!

Effective Fall 2010!

IN-STATE 2010 ( Louisiana Residents Only)

P1 Scholarship- $2,000 per semester
P2 Scholarship- $1,500 per semester
P3 Scholarship- $1,000 per semester

P.S. The price is like that because it's cheaper for in-state students to attend Grambling and most of the time band scholarship plus pell grant (which is free money) in the amount of $3,000 that is usually granted or close to it. Mind you that if you receive a academic scholarship that pays majority of your costs so the band scholarship is just extra money in your pocket. ATTENTION: You must maintain at least a 2.0 and at least pass your courses with 12 hours of credit to maintain your scholarship.

OUT OF STATE 2010 (Non-Louisiana Residents)

P1 Scholarship- $2,500 per semester
P2 Scholarship- $2,000 per semester
P3 Scholarship- $1,500 per semester
Out of State Fee Waiver- $2,800

So if you receive a P1. that's $2,500 + 2,800 which is roughly $5,300 per semester

So add the $3,000 that most people receive from pell grant so that would be $8,300 per semester and if you're eligible for an academic scholarship which in most cases pays for the majority of you school, the band scholarship and the out of state fee waiver is extra money coming back to you in your pocket. ATTENTION: You must maintain at least a 2.0 and at least pass your courses with 12 hours of credit to maintain your scholarship and out of state fee waiver.

P.S. Many colleges don't have the package: Band Scholarship plus Out of State Fee Waivers and many make you take a certain amount of hours. At Grambling you can take the minimum or the maximum that the University allows. The University says in order for you to be a full time student and be able to march in band you must take at least 12 hours and the max is 16 hours unless granted special permission to take over 16 hours. It is Grambling's duty to graduate students and not keep students in school forever taking only 12 to 13 hours per semester. Though Grambling is an selective admissions university and the score needed to get in the university is 21, your ACT scores can be waived if you don't meet the cut off score to be admitted to Grambling State University, please let me know so that i can forward your name to the Directors so that you can be admitted for participation in a spirit group such as the band. It's as simple as that. For instance if you make a 16 on the ACT you can still be admitted to Grambling State University if you inform the directors to put you on the list for ACT waived because you will be apart of the band.

Keep in mind that in Spring 2011 the scholarship and out of state fee waiver at Grambling will receive another increase.

If anyone is interested in auditioning in person or by video tape(mailed, emailed,you-tubed, bandhead or marchingnetwork.com) leave me a message so that i can forward your information to the directors as soon as possible, give you contact info or to give you the address to send a video in.
