Grambling to name new building after Legendary Band Director Conrad Hutchinson

GRAMBLING — Acting upon a request by Grambling State University tohonor one of its musical legends, the University of Louisiana SystemBoard of Supervisors approved the naming of the new performing artscenter as the "Conrad Hutchinson Jr. Performing Arts Center." Interim President FrankPogue said: "Since arriving here a few months ago, I have consistentlyheard about Conrad Hutchinson and what he meant to Grambling. Afterlearning more about him and realizing the impact of his contributions inmaking Grambling a household name, I think we would be remiss if wefailed to bestow this honor upon his legacy."

    Congrats. Hutchinson is definitely a true legend, he brought high energy to halftime and deserves this honor. Hutchinson and Foster are the masters.

    It's opening officially on May 14th, lol that's what the ribbon cutting ceremony is for lol. Can't move into a building without furniture and the staff didn't want to move in with the old stuff then have to move that out then move in new furniture.

    I am proud of my school for this....its a great move by the University to honor the legend that Hutch is.....
