Great Opportunity for Musicians

Greetings Everyone,I just wanted to tell you about this opportunity for graduating High School Seniors and older musicians who want to go to college. One of my closes friends just took over the band program at Mississippi Delta Community College. Mr. Eddie Buggs Jr. has been given the opportunity of building a band program there. Mr. Buggs has been at MDCC for two years and has made leaps and bounds with the program so far. His first year he started out with about 25 musicians and this year he has doubled his numbers. Well the College President is so impressed with the job Mr. Buggs has done with the group so far; he has given Mr. Buggs the go ahead to get as many band students as he can.So, here is where the great opportunity comes in. Mississippi Delta Community College is offering band scholarships which include tuition and room and board. Mr. Buggs is currently looking for all instrumentation for his program. His program currently has a marching band, concert band, and a jazz band. So, if you have some good musicians who may not be able to get into some of the bigger schools but want to go to college. Tell them to give Mississippi Delta Community College a try.If you or you know of anyone that maybe interested please contact Mr. Buggs at ebuggs@msdelta.edu or give him a call at 662-246-6338. In these economic times this is a great opportunity for any musician that wants to go to college.Thank you,Sinfonian_Man

  • Everyone can't get into the larger colleges and universities. We are not going after the musicians that the other schools are going after. We are looking out for those students who my not have done what they were suppose to do in high school but, still want to get a college degree or learn a trade.

We are offering these musicians an opportunity to get back on the right track and get that degree; all while doing what they love and that is playing their ax. So why not use their skills to their advantage. We are trying to keep good musicians from being has been musicians. Also, with a A.A. degree from a Community College they can still attend any college or university they want SWAC,MEAC, CIAA, SIAC, ect.. Most colleges and universities give first preference to those students with A.A. degrees then they do in coming freshman.

So I would ask, before you down a great opportunity for those musicians know what your talking about first. That is all! Thank you and good luck in your future plans!
