Well.......even tho i dont too much like them.....and as much as i think they are living off of their legacy......i dont see how anyone who is COMPLETELY honest with themselves could say anyone other than Grambling. Im not on they tip......just keepin it real......me, deschaun and couple of other us had this discussion not to long ago........
We aren't living off of our legacy, everyone else is! The band still and has always worked hard azz hell: the hard work is finally showing and improvements are being seen and heard because structure is back in the program! The bumpy roads that the band went through wasn't the students fault and it wasn't the band members fault that the band had such a legacy to uphold, many things were beyond the students control! Know the facts before you criticize! Not in any shape or form did the band members ever think to just sit around and do nothing to rack up on events! The program is headed in a great direction once again and it's only going to keep getting better with the new edition(s) on the staff! So i resent that living off of legacy bullsh!t!
Hands down, it's Grambling! They are still racking up on accomplishments till this day! The media has always loved them, they have people in high places also so that is a plus! Lilrj i feel what you saying, i'm sure the students did what they could to make sure things were straight! Every since my homeboy Michael Hendrix got on staff, i've seen nothing but improvements, Grambling is going to get even better once he steps into the head director position in 2 to 3 years, heard that from a reliable source, so that's great for the students because he knows what he is doing and it's showing through the band already!
So you can HONESTLY say that the oppurtunities that the current WF is getting now is based more of its current level of quality than its reputation from the past?

Sure the band continues to rack up on things because of the legacy of the band but don't get on here like the students in the band aren't doing sh!t to maintain the legacy! We work harder than the next band and it's paying off finally! We also get things because of the current bands performances! On a year to year basis during the football season we play big schools such as Washington State, University of Nevada, University of Pittsburg etc.: the performances at those games breed other performances also! Most of the bands accomplishments came and come from seeing the band on the field past and present so don't act like we don't handle our bizz! I will say the musicality in the past was better dropped but it's back! We aren't resting on our laurels!
