Yes you should be very proud of the Greenville Weston High School Solid Gold Marching Band, this clip is from earlier this year but we have a more solid large sound this year ....... Were getting better
Real Talk it sounds AVERAGE......just ok ( not to mention a couple ugly notes poppin out) Just not the same as the 1999-2003 years. G-DUB ran through the ARK TENN MISS area....plus Smiley from Texas and Washington Marion from Louisiana...even gave MVSU hell at their high school day (Crowd thought we was another college because we were about 200 deep with the sound of a beast) Anyone from that time period will tell you the same thing no joke mane. Just never got around to bands like SWD, REDAN, MC 35 AND SAINT AUG. (You might see our little reminder- those two 7 foot tall trophies along with countless of others) But don't get me wrong, ya'll gonna always be consistent because thats one thing about Brooks. But he has just gotten softer over the last couple years because of the band parents complaining about the length of practice ( that's probably the reason ya'll sound just average) But when ya'll come to Jackson.........don't ya'll play against Murrah....when is it?
I agree to that, we are about 120 members this years, but we still give MVSU a run for there money but we are way better, that clip is from last season, we have a rounder sound & we are still running things, & those trophies has been replaced with a recent 7 foot trophy
a lil bruh......... you cant compare a college band to a high school band....... if im not mistaken, since yall so better why is it that yall piccolo section leader didnt even make it thru band camp last year.... smh.......... 2 different levels.... More complexed music and even Mr. Brooks will tell you that.. i sure dont hope you dont plan on coming to valley cus you aint gone make it bruh... i would feel sorry for you!!!!!

Not trying to compare to the 2........of course it's understanding that there is a difference. HOWEVER IN 2002 MVSU WAS PUT TO SHAME (the crowd was the judge).......And beside plenty of graduates from G-DUB are at Valley to this day or have went through.
if im not mistaken only 2 people from g-dub is in the band. Thats the drumline section leader and this cat that couldnt play tuba so they put him on cymbals. and yea that baritone player.. thats it!!!

First of all J.C. the former Picolo section leader could barely make it in our band, so dnt come of like you all are just on top, maybe with Mr. Tramiel you all were but not now, Valley use to run the SWAC now everyone run you all, watch out this year because we do not discriminate, if you play near us we will play back, I have heard some recent clips from Valley, you all sound alright but Hey I dnt like to compare our high school to MVSU but a some point we are more rigorious than you all are.. Majority of the band members head off to UAPB or SU or ASU or JSU. Our juniors &* seniors have stated that we will only go to Valley if our band director takes over MVSU band program, But thumbs up to the Mean Green Marching Maching much better than last year. But im not sure when we play Murrah but we bringing the heat just like we put on them last year, but Murrah comes to us in about three weeks, I believe...
